Jonny Holland is a former professional rugby player having played out the half with Munster Rugby. He graduated from underage to academy and senior contracts where he learned to manage his lifestyle playing rugby full time while simultaneously completing his Commerce Degree.
He underwent a lengthy 13-month rehab stint due to an injury that later resulted in his retirement at just 25. However, he refused to throw in the towel at a career in the sports industry and continued to strive having completed his post-graduate diploma in Applied Sports & Exercise Nutrition.
Jonny is a firm believer that nutrition is a key area for recovery from injury/illness and managing stress. Throughout his career but even more so during his career-changing injury, Jonny took a keen interest in the power of nutrition and overall wellness.
Having experienced career change at a young age, he has since moved into the performance nutrition role with Cork GAA while operating his own business - coaching athletes and the general population to improve their nutritional habits, lose weight, gain muscle, improve energy and feel more confident. After working in the supplement industry with a start-up nutraceutical company he saw how exciting the start-up world can be and chose to start his own journey to help others.
Jonny remains very relevant in the sporting world. He splits his spare time between writing sporting columns for RTE.ie and coaching with Cork Constitution where he is in his 3rd year as assistant coach.
Jonny has experience of speaking to large corporations such as Eli Lilly, Twitter, Morgan McKinley, Johnson & Johnson, KPMG and Munster Rugby as well as schools and sports teams.
